Colorful, striped silver, green and white bottom with a scarlet orange top. This buttercup-shaped squash is an heirloom variety dating back to 1818 France. Not only is it a great fall decor addition it is also lovely cooked. Use it like you would an acorn or butternut squash. Can measure 7–9" across and weigh about 5 lbs each.

Planting Instructions: Start early indoors in pots 3 weeks prior to transplant and harden off after last spring frost. Handle seedlings carefully; minimal root disturbance is best. Can also be seeded directly in the field after soil temperature is 72°F. Plant seeds 1" deep and 6-12" apart (or thin to this spacing). Poor fruit development may indicate insufficient pollination.
