Rudbeckia is also known as Black-Eyed Susan is an excellent cut flower or ornamental plant. The Cherry Brandy variety is the fancy cousin of the more commonly known yellow and black version. This variety sports a beautiful dusty burgundy color with a chocolate center. They self-seed nicely and will pop up next year as a nice surprise. Transplant is recommended, so start indoors or in a greenhouse 5-7 weeks before the danger of frost. If sowing directly simply push seeds into soil without covering with soil. Mist regularly but don't overwater. These do best in hot climates with long days but can tolerate zones 5-9. Starting them early helps them bloom on longer stems in colder climates.
